学生時代にたまたま訪れたクラブでテクノミュージックの魅力に取り憑かれ、一気にアンダーグラウンドなダンスミュージックカルチャーに傾倒。
直後に自らがその表現者となることを強く望み、都内を拠点にテクノDJ / サウンドメーカーとしての活動を開始する。若手アーティスト同士で2010年に立ち上げた New Generation Techno Party “Line Project”で初期メンバーとして長くレギュラーDJを務め、現在に至るまで多くの国内外のトップアーティストとの競演を経験。また、2011年よりDJ EMMAが主宰するTROUBLE HOUSE @WOMBにレギュラーDJとして参加するなど、活動の幅を着実に拡大している。
アナログレコードから始めたDJは、現在、DJ専用のソフトウェアである Traktorやableton Liveを中心にセットアップされたフルデジタルのプレイスタイルに移行。 多数のトラックを操ることで、ミニマルかつグルーヴィーに音を遊ばせる自由度の高いMixは、イベントに訪れる多くのオーディエンスから支持を得ている。
制作では、ダンスフロアを意識したトラックの制作を中心に置きながら、ファッションやアート展示会、短編映画への楽曲提供など、音楽以外の表現分野へのアプローチも積極的に行っている。
また、USTREAMを活用したオンライン配信も得意分野とし、自身の番組“Reach STREAM” や “DJ AKi STREAM”の配信オペレーターをレギュラーで担当。 国内最大の冬の大型ダンスミュージックフェス “WOMB ADVENTURE”での会場設営USTREAMも2年連続で担当するなど、club シーンの情報発信塔としても活動範囲を広げ始めている。
さらに、2013年3月からは、Dr.Shingo, Numanと共に新たなUSTREAM番組「新宿 ダンスミュージック ストリーム」を立ち上げ、自らDJ / 番組ナビゲーターとして参加。今後の展開に注目が集まっている。
Ever since Reach’s rather accidental visit to a club in college, he has been captivated by techno music; since, Reach has plunged himself into the underground culture of music. Shortly after, his desires to take part in this underground culture drove him to become a techno DJ and sound producer in the Tokyo region.
Reach has experienced playing alongside top artists of Japan and the world through “Line Project,” a team of young and aspiring artists Reach has founded in 2010 and DJed for. In 2011, Reach began spinning for TROUBLE HOUSE @Womb hosted by DJ Emma, expanding his horizons.
Beginning as an analog DJ, Reach currently uses Traktor and abelton Live to digitalize his playing style. By playing various tracks, he has a high reputation among his guests for being minimal and groovy simultaneously.
Alongside his projects as a dance music producer, he has also started creating music for fashion, art exhibits, and short movies.
Reach is also an expert at utilizing the WEB to promote himself and others by launching and operating ‘Reach Stream’ and ‘DJ Aki Stream’ on Ustream.
Reach has supervised the Ustream arrangement and operation for ‘Womb Adventure,’ Japan’s largest Winter Dance-Music Festival, two years in a row.
Reach will also appear as a DJ and Navigator in his [Shinjuku Dance Music Stream], a Ustream program he established, along with Dr.Shingo and Numan. Much to expect from this program, as well as the outcome of this DJ, Reach.
