Samuel Kerridge (Downwards // Horizontal Ground Berlin, Germany)
UKアンダーグラウンドレーベルHorizontal GroundからリリースしたデビューEP「Auris Interna 」は、オリジナル性の高い奔放な実験的音源で世界のテクノシーンに衝撃を与え、一躍その名を広げたSamuel。
RA、Hardwax、DJ Mag、 Faze、The Quietus、LWE、Juno Plusなどから、その類稀な才能を評価され賞賛を受ける。
80年代後半のUKアシッドハウスシーンに夢中になった両親の影響でエレクトロニックミュージックを聴いて育ち、14歳の頃からターンテーブルを回し始める。
現在はベルリンに拠点を移し、エクスペリメンタルイベントContortのオーガナイザーも務める。
カルト的要素をどこか感じさせる彼のサウンドスケープはまさに中毒型テクノ。
傾れ込むようなキックと不穏な音の歪みは、その残響と共に深い印象を刻む。
今年2月にはREGIS主宰レーベルDownwardsからリリース、今後の彼に皆が注目する。

Samuel has quickly made a name for himself in the world of techno with a stunning debut EP on the ultra-picky Horizontal Ground.
Critically acclaimed from industry and press alike; RA, DJ Mag, Faze, The Quietus, LWE, Juno Plus, to name but a few, it has been described as a “landmark release”, and “the most singular talent the label has yet exposed”.
‘Auris Interna’ is “a seriously bold debut” and a highly original production of unfettered sonic exploration, with decimating kick drums and feedback, and unearthly amounts of distortion until you're left with a dripping, toxic style of techno.
The release comes highly recommended from all corners of the globe with the formidable Berlin record store Hardwax giving him one of the highest honours in techno ? “Outstanding Ambient Techno EP in stop-motion-speed - TIP!”
Samuel was raised on Electronic music, starting with his first turntables at the tender age of 14, owing it all to his parents who jumped onto the UK Acid house scene in the late 80's.
Not afraid to question people's perceptions of clubbing, he Co-founded the Contort events in Berlin, not only as an outlet for his own artistic vision, but to bring back a level of creativity and magic to a stale club scene.
Samuel sculptures his soundscape from a range of musical influences, decimating kick drums and feedback with unearthly amounts of distortion until you're left with a dripping, toxic style of techno.
2012 saw Samuel debut on Horizontal Ground, with 2013 seeing him signed to the legendary Downwards record label.
He is busy working on some very exciting new projects and his next EP on Downwards will drop in February 2013.
The future is extremely bright for this artist and “his name is one to watch over the next year, for sure.”
Samuel has just completed a showcase at CTM Festival Berlin, playing Live at the infamous Berghain.

東京出身のDJ・プロデューサー、DRONE主宰。
ディープテクノサウンドをベースに、アンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの最深部を探求する。
ロンドン、マドリッドで過ごした幼少期やギターリストとしての活動を経て、彼の創りだす深いサウンドスケープの核心には、情動を揺さぶる波動が潜在する。
これまで、Gynoid Audio、 Sienna Obscureなどから作品を発表。Steve Rachmad remixを含んだ最新12 "EP-Rotation Field" がチリのテクノレーベルSienna Obscureよりリリース。Lucianoの最新ミックスアルバム「Vagabundos2012」には「D-28-2」が使われた。
