良質なレーベルで活躍するベルリンの実力派新鋭アーティスト待望の初来日

東京の主要クラブを始め、様々なシーンで活動するDJ、GOROがAIRを舞台に新たなパーティを開催。そのメインアクトにフィーチュアされたのは、ベルリン在住のアーティストIRON CURTISだ。卓越したセンスを持ち、わずか数年でMirauやMorris Audio、Jack Off、4Lux、Retreat、Mule Electronicなど重要レーベルと契約し、現在までリリースは留まることはない。近年のディープ・ハウス・サウンドを築き上げてきた実力派の筆頭クリエイター待望の初来日である。そして、この夜GOROとNAGAIのユニットArabesque Greelingが初のライブセットを披露する。

ベルリン在住のプロデューサー／アーティスト。デトロイト、シカゴから生まれた正統派といえる確固たるグルーヴに彼独特のエッセンスが醸し出すサウンドスケープは現在のディープハウスシーンを牽引している１人であることは間違いないだろう。その卓越したセンスが世界中に広まり、わずか数年でMirauやMorris Audio、Jack Off、4Lux、Retreat、Mule Electronicなど重要レーベルと契約し、現在までリリースが絶えることがほとんどない。DJやLIVEのオファーにおいてもドイツのみに限らず、ヨーロッパ各国、アメリカからのオファーを受け、世界中のプロモーターは彼の動向から目が離せない状況である。

Iron Curtis’ pieces originate in a place simultaneously tuned to the sounds of Detroit, Chicago and Hamburg. In his home town of Nurnberg, Johannes Paluka is more familiarly known under his surname, which he goes by at the turntable. Intertwining Deep-House with soulful Techno in a disturbingly enchanting manner, his sound moves in the equilibrium of reduced, but never minimal. Flashes of kitsch brighten the dark universe of Iron Curtis, but fail to interfere with the melancholy subtext. Profound music for the dance floor! He is currently living in Berlin and releasing for Mirau, Morris Audio, 4Lux, JackOff, Retreat, and Mule Electronic.

Iron Curtis' debut album 'Soft Wide Waist Band' on Mirau is out now and according to Time Out's review, it 'manages the neat trick of evoking feelings both grand and intimate'. The album is Curtis' entrance into the world of long players and the first of its kind for the Hamburg imprint. While tracks like Inner Glow romanticize a road trip on a Midwest interstate and Horses offers a ride for DJs like James Holden and Dixon alike, you will meet pieces like the The Sun that tickle the soul boy and girl in all of us, wonky slow motion masterpieces (Planetarium) or the dreamy pop beat of the album's eponym. Much like a writer who knows and can recite the entire classical works, but also adores the postmodern tricks, treats and rulebook violations.
